My 67 headlights

I'm working on my 67 and the outside lights work good and when you kick the dimmer switch in the floor the middle lights both come on and my passenger side both lights are on and my driver side the outside light goes off can anyone tell me what might be wrong I'm learning everyday the simple stuff just screws me all up

The inner lamps are high-beam only.... the outer ones have both high and low beams. Your drivers side high beam might just have a bad filament (burned out sealed beam). Or it could be a bad connector, or a wiring problem.

Make sure all connections are clean & snug and no wires are broken. Do you have a test light or a voltmeter? Easiest place to start is to check if there's 12VDC at the connector on the back of the lamp. If not, there's a wiring problem. If you have voltage, wiggle the connector and see if the lamp comes on. If not, it's probably a bad headlamp unit. Swap with your good one from the passengers side to verify it.

Ok I have a 70 stepside I only have 2 lights the dims worked but when I hit the dimmer switch for brights they went out completely so I took the dimmer out and found I had 1 wire shorting out on the bottom of the connecter this could be your problem
