I have a 71 P 10 Step van can not figure out where a vehicle identification numbers are located is there more than one location to look

According to the Chassis and parts catalog it says it is located on the left door pillar on 10 series step van on 7 models and most cowl models have it attached to the air intake plenum panel Step van models except 10 series have plates attached to inside face if dash and toe panels.
