unsafe scripts
While on this site today I have noticed a little shield up in the top right corner that has some kind of red mark on it as well. I finally clicked on it to see what the deal is and it pops up a message that the page is trying to load scripts from unauthenticated sources and it is being blocked by my virus program. Do I want to load the unsafe scripts........ummm no. It is not there on any other website that i go to, just here.

Most of the time the cause of that is from the advertisement banners. NO you don't want to run untested/trusted scripts. Much of the time its not that they are "evil" scripts, but just ones done for the advertisers that don't follow prescribed protocols.

I see you're running chrome...
I've been using some extensions in chrome to make my browsing time on the Net much less cluttered with ads and auto running videos as well as a tracking bots and things that generally slow browsing down quite a bit. Give these three a try for a while and see what you think. The only negative is I occasionally get hit with a Pay-Wall when the site recognizes my Ad blocker. I then get the choice whether I want to keep reading their content by turning off the Ad blocker for that site ( or simply pulling IE or other browser with none of these helpful extensions ) or just ignoring their content completely. Privacy Badger -- Prevents all the ad trackers and other Web trackers from following you around and peeking at what you are doing. Disable HTML5 AutoPlay -- Stops Video content ( HTML5 video content ) from auto playing in your browser, these are mostly Advertiesments that just eat up your bandwidth and clutter your screen. AdBlock Plus -- Blocks intrusive Advertisements from cluttering your screen Hth, -klb
