Re: El Camino....
Yep, separate bed doesn't work to define a truck any better than the no back seat definition. What is a van? My K2500 Suburban is more truck than a good many pickups out there. It has a back seat, when up 6' bed, when down 8' bed. It has a one piece body, but is built on a truck chassis. The Fargo, Chevy, and International Utes I showed have one piece bodies and are trucks. I can agree to disagree by saying El Caminos aren't trucks, they are pickups. There are more than just cars and trucks, right? I mean not all SUV are trucks but they aren't cars either. Station wagons started out being trucks and turned into being cars.

Re: El Camino....
Even though the El Camino was based on a station wagon frame , the El Camino frame was boxed for more strength where the wagon frame Im pretty sure was not .

Re: El Camino....
Here is what GM says:
Case Closed . Any other questions? The first actual "station wagons" were built on truck chassis. The first pickups came after. By that time both station wagons and pickups were built on the car platform. Station wagons were the only light trucks before there were pickups. The first year for the El Camino name was '59, but the first pickups were El Caminos... a pickup based on the car. 1930:

Re: El Camino....
I have all kinds of El Camino pictures in that thread I started. I know nuting mon. It comes down to how a person chooses the see them. They are free to be wrong . I try to keep a broad perspective, but this thread ain't about broads. Maybe I should start a broads picture thread so we can all agree on something

Re: El Camino....
YUP! Look around the internet. Some of that stuff ain't fit for human consumption. One never knows what one will stumble into. I don't go to "recommended for you" on youtube, even if I got there by a link from here about people burning rubber in their truck. There's a lot of mighty strange stuff out there.

Got my blinders on to any hint of such a thing. I'm all about God's own creation.
That said, this set will be the real deal

Re: El Camino....
Nice wagon. Very odd to see it was a police vehicle.

Re: El Camino....
Somehow, I think that is a bad idea. I can see that going awry in a hurry.
