Were to buy Body parts

Starting my build on a 1969 c10 factory air cab truck... Cab will be fixed but from the prices I am seeing online its not worth putting the time to make fenders, doors ect ect back to show quality. I have looked at various places online and there all about the same money. Dose anyone have a suggestion where to get the best quality, heavy gauge parts? I need EVERYTHING but the cab. But I do not want to get any pop can thin parts either... Any help will be great! this is a new world to me..

Re: Were to buy Body parts

I bought used OEM Doors and Fenders in primo condition from guys in my area who were advertising on Craigslist. They're still out there, you just have to look.

If you're looking for repops, I would suggest GMC Pauls Truck Parts. https://gmcpauls.com/
They are a member and a paid vendor on this forum.

Re: Were to buy Body parts

I just sent a email to soky. Luckily they are only about 4 hours from me so depending on freight I might just make a day trip. Builder is gutting the truck now so I need to get something shaking!!!

Re: Were to buy Body parts

Wes @ classicheartbeat.com (another paid forum vendor) is an excellent guy to work with. He has been able to source several of the oe suppliers for lots of different parts for these trucks. He doesn’t sell junk. Unfortunately for reproduction sheet metal it all comes from the same hand full of factories over seas. So most all vendors seem to be selling the same parts under different brand names. Wes or gmc Paul will get you the best quality sheet metal available.

Re: Were to buy Body parts

Well I never heard back from Southern Kentucky Classics... But Wes from Classic Heart Beat got back to me and was I ever pleased.. This man had a deep knowledge of these old trucks. He hooked me up with everything I need... New bed, doors, fenders, hood, grill, bumpers, all the patch panels I need for cab along with every nut, bolt and body mount for assembly. Took his time and gave me a parts breakdown... even mentioned some stuff he knew I would need but didn't think of. Extremely pleased that I have found a 1 stop shop with not only everything but excellent customer service.. Its going to be a long road for this old truck!!
