1995 K1500 With 2004 Column and ls5.3 help?
I picked up this project a few weeks ago but I'm having a hard time finding anyone who has installed the 04 column in a 95 truck. Who ever did the install pretty much stopped at getting the engine running and left the lighting a mess. I could really use a pinout of the large column plug on the 95. I Have some wire diagrams but trying to find all the circuits associated with the column is beyond my hobbyist abilities.
Also any info on the wires coming from the 2004 column. Last edited by livermorek5; 05-18-2018 at 05:59 PM. |

I kind a think you have a square peg in a round hole situation. It looks like you have an OBDI diag plug just below the column and the column is OBDII. I don't see how that's going to work. You need more of the 5.3L wiring to get past this spot from what it appears to me. I haven't done this kind of transplant but I would do a lot more research at this point before going any further.

I was at work when I posted this. The two pictures are not my truck. My truck has both obd1 and 2 diag. ports. The problem I have is not with any of the engine controls. Its only with the exterior lighting. After more research I'm thinking I need to add the 04 body control module or just try and make a 95 multifunction turn signal switch work on a 04 column.

A pin out of the plug would still be nice to have, but I solved all my exterior lighting issues by swapping out the 2004 multifunction turn signal switch with a 1995 version. Bolted right in amazingly just had to trim the column cover a lil bit.
