WIW Nos parts

What is a 72 nos front bumper worth, its not in a box, but still has the gm part sticker on the back.
Also have a new black dash pad in the box & various upper trim.
Is there a good source to find pricing on this stuff?
Thanks for your input
Tom

Re: WIW Nos parts

Tom,

This stuff goes pretty high on eBay, higher than it does at swap meets I've found. The repop bumpers don't compare to an original in my opinion, the contour is wrong on the ones I've seen. I payed 100 bucks for 2 fender spears on eBay just the other day and I just saw the 2 pieces for the bed go for 140 bucks but have seen it go much higher than that. I would be interested in some of your stuff when you decide on a price. I especially am interested in any trim you have and I will pay a fair price. Let me know,

Thanks

Re: WIW Nos parts

If the bumper insn't scratched or dinged and clean on the back,I would say $300 and up. No packaging might hurt it some, but you never know.

Re: WIW Nos parts

I agree with uncle on the bumper, you don't see many of them anymore. You can tell a repop apart from an original on the back side of the center top where it peaks. The repop's contour comes too close to the grill. Hopefully the sticker would be proof enough that it's a gennie.

Re: WIW Nos parts

Tom
I agree with the others on the eBay prices. The trim stuff has been going crazy prices in the last three months on eBay. I have been looking for one upper swb trim piece to replace the NOS one that was destroyed by the Post Office. I paid $75 for it and the guy shipped it without anything but paper wrap for $25 shipping. That was a year ago. Lately those upper box trim pieces have been selling on the bay for $112, $140, and $200 for a pair of box trim plus shipping. The bumpers I've seen go for $175 to $275 in the last 6 months. I believe a nice OEM rechrome is the best choice as my NOS oem bars have really rough bumper ends where they were not smoothed before oem plating. You would snag your wash mit on the edges in places. I don't think you see to many NOS bumpers with the original rubber coating or later years the strapped boxing like used on the tailgates. Most guys opened them to check for scratches poor quality and then the boxing cover was not taped back over them. Dash pads, well if they were stored on the tube end they may be a little out of shape on the end too but a nice NOS pad should bring $100 to $150. Mark

Re: WIW Nos parts

Yeah I've been watching it on eBay as well. I saw 2 pieces of swb upper box trim go for $180.00 or a couple of weeks ago and just the other day the same guy had a second set go for about $140.00. The thing that bothered me was it was not in the original packaging. I'm on the lookout for a right side door upper piece and am a NOS junkie too. The problem is my wants outrun my wallet sometimes. Theres a nice tailgate piece right now at $250.00 on eBay and I bet it goes way up before it's over. I passed on one at the Pate swap meet for $250.00 a couple of months ago and am kicking myself for it now.
