Dana 44-8F

My 70 k5 has drums all the way around and I want to convert it to front discs.

I bought a front diff that has 44-8F in the casting. The overall width is greater than that of my current Dana 44. Any one know what this is out of?

My plan is to swap from the knuckles out only - anyone know if I will run into any compatibility issues?
