Door Glass

Well our project "junker" is on the road. We are hoping to go on the power tour with it. It is a 54. We attempted to put new door glass in it yesterday & dayum! How the heck do you get it in there? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, time is getting short.

Re: Door Glass

I can't get the door glass to fit inside of the slides. I tried to remove the vent window assembly & a few other methods but couldn't get it to fit.

I will try some more but I thought mabye someone in here would have some tips.

Re: Door Glass

Don't know if the 54 is the same as my 59, but I just replaced all the door glass this evening. I pulled the vent assembly most of the way out and then slid the window glass in at an angle. I then slid the window glass and vent assembly down into the door. I wiggled the vent assembly into place. Then used the window crank to put the regulator up where the sash upper channel was visible. Then I instaaled the two retaining screws and I was done. Sounds easier than it was but it only took about two hours start to finish to replace all the glass.

Re: Door Glass

When I've replaced window glass I've pulled the vent part way out too. I think you might have to pull the door unlocking handle and rod too.
