From the GMC department: 1971 St. Louis Jimmy Custom. These manufacturing discrepancy threads interest me because my truck has no custom badge on the glove box door and there are no mounting holes for one. I also have a SPID that shows a saddle interior while every interior trim part is parchment.

All 72s shown thus far have the lower trim and the 71s do not. Seems more like the lower trim was a 72-only feature. Would be curious to see how 69/70s were outfitted.

I sold my 72 cst blazer years ago but I wondered about the trim then. Mine had it but I noticed a lot of others didn't. I'm guessing it's a 72 only thing.

My 72 CST (manufacture date is 10/71) never had the lower trim, it didn't have the CST emblems on the original doors, but the holes were there.

My '70 GMC Jimmy Custom (CST) didn't have the lower trim on the tailgate. These pics are from 2001 when I got the truck from my Mom. She bought it in 1971.
The date tag is St. Louis 1/70. DAC

Flint not sure what month it was built. How can you tell?
