Had no idea they existed. I've gotta get my hands on a set of those. I must say I like them.

Have you ever, by chance (or could you possibly), ever test-fitted some normal center caps from other OBS steelies on the Limited wheels? I've always wondered how they would look. I've seen them mounted up with no caps and thought they looked better, but unfinished since you have the hubs visible, and wondered if some normal centers, possibly even painted silver to match, would work and look good.

In 2000, you could still buy 2 models of the Tahoe in the old '88-'98 bodystyle right alongside the new 2000 bodystyle. One was the Tahoe Z71 and the other was the Tahoe Limited. The Tahoe Limited was based off of the Tahoe SS concept shown in 1997. The SS was very well-received, but word has it that the GM was worried that the SS badge would cause the insurance rates to go up on the vehicle, so they brought it out as the Tahoe Limited. The Limited was 2wd and only available in black with a 2-tone gray leather interior with the 120 mph/white needle gauge cluster from the '99-'00 Escalade/Denali. It got the suspension and brakes from the Tahoe Police package, luggage rack delete, monochrome bumpers and grille, special ground effects kit and of course, the exclusive 16" alloy wheels. The wheels were only available on this 2000 Tahoe Limited and they are the only factory 16" wheels ever offered on the 5-lug half-ton 2wd trucks in this bodystyle.

Re: Daily Drivers?

Thanks 1bad. Had no idea they existed. I like the style plus they're 16's, even better. Never knew Chevy ever had a 5-lug 16" for that bodystyle. Guess ya learn somethin' new everyday

Yep. The only model that came with them. I've seen figures of only 8905 Limiteds produced, so that should give you an idea of how rare the wheels are. I've seen a surprisingly large number of Limiteds running around, many of them on aftermarket wheels, so they're out there.

Re: Daily Drivers?

Well, I was already seeking AR Outlaw II's, as that has always been my favorite style wheel. I still want a pair of those. But I thought the Limited wheels look nice too, and I myself prefer 16's over 15's. But I do understand how rare they are.

Re: Daily Drivers?

I know this is old but I also just picked up a 2000 limited for a steal because the owner suffered a locked up ac pulley and broken belt , and thought they have blown the head gaskets. 60 bucks later from the junkyard and a new belt it runs like a top even with 199k.

My daily driver though.. minus the camper shell, that was temporary.

Here's my son's '90 GMC Sierra. He's just finished his junior year of high school and enjoys sporting his "antique" truck. He says the girls like it. They must, he's gone in it every night. GTT

Re: Daily Drivers?

My work truck/daily when my Dart needs worked on. I love that I can have my daughter in a forward facing car seat in the middle back...makes not having back doors more convenient. Oh, it's a '96 Z71 with 173000 on the odo. Put 10000 miles on it last year.

Re: Daily Drivers?

This way my daily driver a few yrs. ago. The truck was an 88 and I knew the truck since it was new. The original owner who I bought it from owned a speed shop in the town I live in. She was mint when I bought it and I kept it that way. I held onto it for a few yrs. but someone made me an offer I couldn't refuse... I often wish I kept it. The original owners brother did custom paint jobs for big bucks, this truck had one hell of a paint job on it!

Re: Daily Drivers?

my 1990 chevy 1500. picked it up a little over 7 years ago for $300, heres a blurry picture from my old blackberry camera when i first got it

kind of a funny story... well maybe not so much depending on how you look at it, anyways the owner of the neighboring business at my old job passed away, a day later someone went there and pretty much stole everything out of the place (inside job im sure). anyways my truck was the one blocking the door, so they peeled the column, broke the interior light, moved my truck, stole everything else that was in the place including all the other vehicles and trailers and put my truck back lol

so a steering column later and still driving it, been very reliable got it at about 172k and im at 220k now other then typical repairs its never left me stranded

Great to see. Nice truck! I hung onto my '92 K3500 I ordered till '14. It worked all it's life. When the crank broke and ate up the block I decided it was time to move on at 335k. Money was tight or I would have kept it and kept it alive. But, I needed something like nowI grabbed the Suburban.
