I sure hope someone here is bidding on THIS:(!) (65 50th swb, original paint)

(EDIT: Oops - mis-typed the thread title, obviously it's a 68) Because I want to see more pics of it when you win it! On ebay now (not mine), swb 50th 68 w/327 original paint. Looks like he redid the seat in correct 50th cover. Pretty nice little truck. No idea what the price will go to, but, it's not every day one of these comes up for sale...

Super nice truck. He says that's the original seat cover, was under the other cover that was there

Ditto... Flippers bum me out, they inflate the cost of our hobby.

Re: I sure hope someone here is bidding on THIS:(!) (65 50th swb, original paint)

It definitely appears to have original paint with the black primer showing through, but I've seen a lot of these trucks in various conditions over the years and that "shade" of gold looks weird to me. Could be the pics, my Mustang interior looks like it's 50 very different blues in pics, but looks all pretty much the same in person.

Looks like the real deal to me and priced accordingly. Nice color, for a guy wanting to start with an original and leave the paint alone.
Thanks to the OP for sharing.

Re: I sure hope someone here is bidding on THIS:(!) (65 50th swb, original paint)

I don't get how the flippers are necessarily raising the prices in the hobby. They buy from folks too lazy to advertise or do their research and put them in the marketplace where they garner the most eyes and bids for example. There are perhaps some expectations by sellers when they see the high prices some are going for but at this point the flippers drop out since no margin and a lot of folks end up sitting on their "prizes". Prices then go back to reality...

Honestly all someone has to do is surf CL for an hour and you'll find the C-10 of your dreams for between 3000 and 6000 most likely..... plus shipping!

Nice truck and just reassures me I didn't get totally raped on my 68 K10 SWB 50th!

I love the Gold 50th's, so this looks good to me but...
He says its a 327 2 bbl, Im not sure they offerd a 2 bbl 327, maybe they did.
So look at the alternator bracket, its from a later model small block or is the motor a later model small block.

Now, this paint combo is the same as my 70. but mine is obviously not a 50th anniversary. So after the anniversary did they put this paint out as a standard color?

Agreed, 1968 327 should be 4 barrel, front filler tube, short water pump, alternator mounted out wide over the drivers side exhaust manifold. Buyer should beware if they care about an original motor, check before you buy.

a cool truck, but price is going up $$$!

Re: I sure hope someone here is bidding on THIS:(!) (65 50th swb, original paint)

gold is a very common colour choice out here in the south west, gold and white, very common.

now Maybe I look at them all differently.

is 12k reasonable for a gold 50th truck.

How do you tell a 50th truck? is it on the spid?

Why would someone do a 5/7 drop on an original truck, and that's sit...

Air cleaner looks like from 70s/80s? Very nice truck though. Cant imagine most care about the drivetrain though, id bet it gets LSd in no time since this is the exact look the modded trucks i see are after.
