I wouldn't give $400 for a cowl hood but I would for one of these. I like that laid back front angle. It closely matches the windshield angle and gives the front end a lowered look all by itself. It just looks "right" on these trucks. However I have no welder and wouldn't want to mess up two good hoods trying to do this myself.
Really nice work Kevin.

Well, I found out that the inner structure on an aftermarket hood is entirely different from a stock hood. I need to find a cheap stock 69-72 hood to hack up...

Gringo, I've got one you can have, it's just a 3 hour drive down here. The only payment I need is a ride in that sweet Blazer.

Re: 67 hood on a 69-72 LFD style

I was looking at mine earlier today and there's about 1.5 to 2" at the back of the hood that could maybe be cut off but you'd have to redo the front hood bolts and redrill the back holes in the hinge. Would the front line up do you think? Anyone?

No it would not because the front edge of a 67-68 sits lower than the front edge of the 69-72. So if you just slide it back the front would need to lift up so the entire thing would be WAY off.

Re: 67 hood on a 69-72 LFD style

O.K. Wishful thinking I guess. There's another guy on here who was asking for some ideas about stamping some steel parts for our trucks. I saw all kinds of suggestions but none about the 67 style hood for 69-72's. I guess it's too costly or either there's not enough demand for it.

How about a fiberglass aftermarket cowl hood, Could you just cut the front lip off and run it... Just a thought, I like the cowl hoods

Re: 67 hood on a 69-72 LFD style

I know I'm resurrecting an old thread, but man I love this, I have my grandpa's 70 that he bought new. I love the lower slope of the 67 & 68's. My buddy found me a 67 GMC hood $55, it's at his shop right now! was hoping for a direct swap, but this doesn't look too difficult! Hope to get started soon!

Having trouble linking image from Google drive, will post as soon as I get that figured out!

I own a 67 Sub and a 70 Panel I LOVE the 67-68 hood. There are several threads on how to splice the two together.

Has anyone ever made a 67-68 hood out of the 69-72 style?
