droopy door handles
i know the fix is to heat the shaft and give it a twist, but my chrome handle is moving on the steel shaft, how is the handle attached to the shaft.. threaded on?

I dont think the shaft threads on, I think you have a broken handle. they are cheap enough aftermarket. I had one so droopy you could hit a bump and the handle jiggle would open the door.

I believe what causes this are springs worn out in the handle AND the latch.

shooting from the hip on the year
55-59 handles are on a splined shaft, handle attaches to the spline with a set screw
