I know this may sound foolish but in my 03 GMC 3500 4x4 the buzzer doesn't sound when the key is left in the ignition and the buzzer doesn't chime when the seat belt isn't hooked, but the light flashes in the dash. I can't seem to find a fuse for this or the buzzer, can some one tell me where the buzzer is and what fuse controls the buzzer in case I want it to work. thanks

Mine doesn't chime when my seat belt is off either. Try turning the headlights on with your truck off/key out. If it doesn't chime then there is definitely something wrong.

Does it really bother you that much? Lol

I think 03 & up Chime through the radio speakers, Aftermarket radio??

doesn't work, tried that and I would like the key to chime when I forget to remove the key from ignition.

If your left front or right front speaker is not working, you will not hear the chime.

Also, check the black connector under the driver's seat. Is the blue wire connected?

checked and both speaker are working.
to cut to the chase where is the chime located or where is the devise that activates the chime located?

every thing works in the truck except the key/seat belt chime, that is why I am on the hunt to find it in the truck.

i do bleive it plays though teh radio on 03 and up not 100 percent sure on that

where does it get the chime from, as there must be some item that activates it so it can chime

Data message from the BCM. If that was the problem your radio would not even turn on. Try pressing and holding the "6" preset on your radio with it and the rest of the truck off, then checking for the chime again. If that doesn't do something, something is wrong with your radio or the left front speaker. Those are the only culprits.
