99 Silverado brakes

I am going to change the brake pads . Is their anything i need to do diffrent because of the anti loc brakes . if so please explain . thanks

open bleeder screws to colapse calipers so fluid doesn,t get push back through abs pump

not necessary. Just retract the pistons with a clamp or big channel locks. I do it every day at the shop with no problems.
Here is a link to a thred I did on PM for GM truck brakes. Youcan use this info (with pics) to do your brake job. Hope it helps you. There are some tips in there to keep you brakes working freely. It shows the rear brakes but the tronts are similar enough that the info applies there also.

Thanks for the info . We did the brakes on my sons 2000 Silverado four times.. Had to change rotors twice 160000 miles .Since the first time he has said the brakes were not as good as the factory. I didnt know if we messed up the abs system or not . We just pushed the pistons back to get the new pads in. We did clean all the parts while they were off . I didnt know if you had to do somthing to the abs system . My 99 has 51000 on it and will need brakes soon .
