Re: What did you get done 11/15/2009 edition

I would've liked to have gotten more done but I didn't. I got new driving/fog lights installed and I put the cleaned up bowtie on my grille. I also started stripping my extra drivers side door for parts.

Re: What did you get done 11/15/2009 edition

I had a very busy weekend...........

On your mark, get set, GO!

Heap...Finished the power steering conversion, installed a Dakota Digital cruise unit, installed the new fender emblems (3M tape for now), added the Caddy air cleaner and trim rings for the wheels. 2 new tires on the front. Replaced a leaking rear air bag.

Replaced a window regulator on the wife's van.

Replaced the rear brakes on my old Mazda.

Cut the grass and cleaned up the yard after our NorEaster Thursday and Friday.

It's time for a nap. LOL

Re: What did you get done 11/15/2009 edition

finally got the truck ready for inspection
this week had to replace the lower control arm on my DD, it rotted out and bent going down the road
today i was doing some looking around in the garage and while going through my grandfathers old tool box, found a handful of Starett calipers, and a Sears half inch micrometer. but the coolest find was an 'application for reassignment" at General Electric dated 1956, a year before my father was born. my grandfathers wrote the he wanted a position where he could use his head more. thought i was wicked cool
double bonus, found a picture of my truck in '75

Bradbury: looks good man! Show us a more complete shot of the whole truck with new clip.

I didn't get much done around here. Thursday, enjoyed my 49ers beating up on Jay Cutler and the bears. We got snowed on most of the weekend. I sat at work all day Saturday again to not make a buck. Today watched the Broncos FAIL (that is for a couple of my local friends Bob & Adam ).

Re: What did you get done 11/15/2009 edition

Those are all I have so far. I got the front end from another member and it took a little more then either of us expected to make the 10yr parts swap. I need to stop by LMC tomorrow and get some misc bumper bolts, clips for the outer grill pieces and wire in the bumper lights/turn signals.
Any secret tips on Aligning the cowl hood?

i got all the interior plastic dyed and metal trim painted, made some kick panels out of 1/4 ply wood and covered them in carpet, made some seat belt covers to fit aftermarket seatbelts, painted a tailgate for my boss(inside and outside, also a 2 tone) and striped his truck

Re: What did you get done 11/15/2009 edition

I swapped parts with member 632bbc Josh has an 81 4x4 with 12inch lift on 42's he will soon have my 91gmc front clip on that truck since i got his 81parts. Why you ask? Just because I was born in 1981 I wanted my suburban to be customized to the year I was born but with the cowl hood and billet grill.
here is his truck...Then my pop up tent when it started raining

Frustrating weekend. I pulled a rear 12-bolt housing on my 64 for a board member & delivered it to help him out only to have the receiving shop 'decline' it because it was in "no better shape than the current rear housing". No contact to square the issue..... it is what it is.

Re: What did you get done 11/15/2009 edition

Worked around the house all weekend. I have been doing interior paint work and the projects keep getting bigger. Not much to show, but the interior trim is looking much fresher these days.

I did take the 77 out Saturday night. It was the last cruise night of the season here and it was freaking huge. I got there at 4:30 and spots were filling quickly. By 6:00pm the lot was overflowing.

Here's a few of my favs.

Re: What did you get done 11/15/2009 edition

I made a custom heater box out of 2 and started cleaning up the fire wall. I think I am going to just cut all the old metal out an put in a new peice since the AC box helped create alot of swiss cheese
