You must be speaking of the Medium Bronze and green interior super combo.

That is a lot of ugly. The only way it could have been better is if it had the Highlander option.

Re: How could GM let this happen?

Green and bronze what a combo.
I had a conversation a few years back with a guy that painted cars for the GM plant that said he had difficulty with certain colors and painted several vehicles the wrong color before it was corrected with a numbering system on the spray guns.

Re: How could GM let this happen?

There's an order number at the bottom of the SPID, so somebody had to have ordered it that way. The question is, did they just accidentally check the wrong box, or is that what they really wanted?

IMO Reminds me of an Ooompa Loompa from Willy Wonka.

Definitely a clean truck outside though, Seat needs recovered bad anyway and the dash is cracked, a few interior parts and some paint and carpet and that would be a great driver.

Re: How could GM let this happen?

Oh believe me I have seen some horrendous color combinations out of all the car companies, GM included. A few years ago a 1970 SS454 Chevelle (LS-6) was found that was painted a medium green with a gold interior (YIKES!), rumor has it the owner/orderer was a Packers fan and picked that color combination because it was the closest to the team colors. It was nowhere near the right colors and was unbelieveably hidious, the only saving grace was the LS-6 and M22.

Re: How could GM let this happen?

Hey, when these trucks were built, there were "Suggested" color schemes, but the bottom line is that you could mix/match as you desired. I'm sure it was a special-order. No dealership would purposely mix those colors with the intention of putting it on the lot for anyone to choose from.

Undoubtedly, those primary colors (bronze and olive green) had meaning to the original purchaser.

Sadly, or gladly, we don't have that option.

Re: How could GM let this happen?

Strange title on the auction: "1972 Chevrolet C-10 GMC C20 2500"

That color scheme reminds me of my orange truck with the scrounged green seat. Its hideous. <insert barf emoticon here>

Re: How could GM let this happen?

a "so ugly it's cute" situation?

pretty clean truck. i saw it a few days ago (i search cragislist nationally like every day). would make a very unique truck for someone who just wants a good daily driver and doesn't concern him/herself with aesthetics.

Re: How could GM let this happen?

Look at it like this: there was a time when you could order the options you wanted no matter how weird. one example i have seen is a factory panel truck with a window on one side and a panel on the other so the owner could sell produce out of the back. now, if you want the bigger engine, you need to buy the leather seats, gps, and all that other crap. i love the fact that you used to be able to get a/c, power windows, power steering, and manual steering just because. Same goes with weird color schemes!

Re: How could GM let this happen?

one Heck of a nice truck and from the spid it was ordered that way originally. And you never know why someone will order odd color combinations like that. My guess is that they were close to the school colors of a school that the guy had a connection with.
