Anyway to mount 4l80e to np205?

I’ve searched some on this but could not a find a good answer. I’m guessing a 6 bolt 32 spline np205 will mount up with adapter ?

Re: Anyway to mount 4l80e to np205?

4wd tail shaft in 4l80 and round 6 np205 with long input 32 spline and the rare 1 year only adapter or aftermarket unit .

years ago i had a 2wd fixed yoke 4l80 and had a fig 8 np205 with short input 32 spline on the np205 . i had a friend whip me up a spacer i think it was 1.25" thick . the 1 side was setup to mate to the 4l80 and the other the 205 . reason being is the O-RING register is a different size than the other . so DO NOT just bolt up a np205 adapter with out knowing its for a 4l80 trans .

here is a pic of my super clean orignal gm 4l80-e to np205 round 6 t-case adapter . easy way to spot them is the 2 feet pads the trans/t-case mount bolt on point to the back NOT the front . if you try and use a 400 to 205 adapter then you hit the trans pan on the 4l80-e . there is a spacer kit to fix this and make it all work . http://www.northwestfab.com/4l80E-to...-Kit_p_98.html

pic #1 shows NWF spacer kit installed with th400 to 205 round 6 setup .
pic #2 & 3 are true 4l80-e to 205 adapter note the feet position .
pic #4 is th400 to round 205 feet forward .

and lots of people happy with these guys for controler if you need one . www.usshift.com

Found this would make it pretty simple and no new transfer cases .
I was thinking of going to a full manuel 4l80e so i control the gears and i dont have to mess with a clutch.

I got a mount from Trail Tech Fab a few years ago... not sure if he's still in business.

Re: Anyway to mount 4l80e to np205?

Off-road design makes an adapter. I had them build me a np205 with the 32 spline input. They sell a kit to convert the older 8 figure style as well. That’s the cheaper route. If you do use a 2wd trans make sure it has the full spline output shaft. Then you can just cut the shaft dawn to adapt it. There is also a small plug in the rear of the case that had to be replaced. It fills the tail housing with fluid when it’s a 2wd. Be sure to replace that with a plug. Gm makes it but I don’t remember the part number.
