Hella H4 housing conversion?

Time has come that I need to replace several of the headlights in my '85 Sierra Classic, and I'm not opposed to buying the Hella (or other brand) conversion housings that accept a replaceable bulb. It occurred to me, I could modify the wiring so that all four burn on high and low beam. Pretty sure the standard H4 bulb is 55W/60W for low/high beam - will I run into any problems in the capacity of the factory wiring if I have 110/120W running all the time?

Re: Hella H4 housing conversion?

I just sold my CUCV Project and was going to use these Hella 1AE 003.427-011 H4's. I'd sell the pair for $100 shipped.

I was planning to run one of the aftermarket Relay Kits to eliminate the load on the factory harness so might be some thing to consider.

Relay mod for the WIN even stock.

And for the love of god dont tell me you wana be a a$$hat and run 4 low beams if i read your post correctly . . . Ford has that on there trucks now and to oncoming drivers its HELL . Dont know how it passed fmvss testing .

I skipped the mods and hella parts and got j.w.speaker led units . D.O.T aprooved and wow nice white and true defined cot off on the patterns over cheep china led units. And gained a ton more side view at night . No one flashed me yet with them adjusted correctly . Been around 4 years now . Plus they draw a lot less power so no relay mod required .

Re: Hella H4 housing conversion?

Run a relay that is triggered by the high beam supply wire to switch power through the relay from a good fused 12V source to the low beam feed wire.

I took it to mean he wanted high and low on when he had his high beams on, low on only when he had low beams on.
