Whats everyone doing for shocks?
Hey yall, coming up im going to be flipping the axle on my 66' GMC, and then evening it out in the front. The shocks on the truck now are okay, but an upgrade or even new ones wouldn't hurt. So what is everyone doing for shocks? Do you have to have the lowered shocks for lowered trucks? Or can you get the original gas charged shock absorber's?

I'm running KYB Monomax shocks on mine and I really like them. I ran them on my 02 Silverado a few years back and they treated me well also, great shock for the money.

I'm using a set of leftover QA1 Stocker Star single adjustable shocks from a previous project.

I've been running Belltech Street Performance on my 66 Suburban and Belltech Nitro Drop 2 for two lowered 68's in the past and very happy with the ride and performance for all three trucks.

The KYB MonoMax is a good shock as it a monotube. KYB goes so far as to show a cut-A-way on their website and everybody loves cut-A-ways. Shocks are like mystery tubes. It's good to learn what's inside before you buy. The Bell Tech stuff is twin tube which is not as effective as monotube at dampening.
 RideTech shocks have a million and one mile warranty and are monotube. We use impact forged bodies and beefy 1/2" or bigger shafts for reliability. Our shocks cost more but they are adjustable, good looking, they'll last forever and the ride and handling can't be beat. RideTech works harder at providing fitments for our old trucks than anyone.
