what rally wheel center caps are these?

Saw this great looking truck with rally wheels and center caps. I assume the center caps are off a newer truck. Any ideas what year truck they came off? I'd like a set for my truck, but ideally with a GMC sticker. I've got the 6 lug rally rims for my truck, with the 4x4 blazer caps, which I really don't like.

I kept going back to the truck looking for the owner, but never found him.

Re: what rally wheel center caps are these?

Cool, thanks guys. It looks like these are held in place by the lugnuts, so I guess I need the correct lugnuts with any caps. Also, I wonder if there are different sizes for 15" wheel vs. 16" wheel.

I'll keep an eye out in the local craigslist to find some locally I can test fit. Now that I know what years to look for, that gives me a good starting point.

Thumbs up Re: what rally wheel center caps are these?

I've got a set of the black centers with GMC on them. Is that what you're looking for? Or do you want the whole rim?

Re: what rally wheel center caps are these?

I had a 93 gmc with steel "rally" (?) wheels that used plastic "nut covers" (huh huh) to hold the caps on. The lug nuts had "threads" on the od for the plastic ones to screw on. Since the lug nuts were metric, hybrid nuts would have to be purchased to hold that style of cap on. Ive never had a truck with caps like the one shown. Do they just clip onto the lug nuts? Are hybrid nuts required?

Btw, iirc, six lug wheels were only available in 16" on 4x4 trucks from 88 to 99, when all went to 6 lug.

Re: what rally wheel center caps are these?

I have a set of those inner and outer threaded nuts for 67-72 lugs. They do a great job of holding on the newer caps to the older wheels. Those hybrid nuts are for sale on eBay all the time for a reasonable price.

Yes these are from the early 90s. I bought and painted my rally wheels but wanted something different for my 6lug hubcap. With the rally's, they don't have the hubcap clips to hold on the correct centers. Almost went with the 70s style centers til I saw these. They are lower profile than the 70s 4x4 caps. These are plastic and I picked up a used set on eBay for around $40. On the back there are plastic tabs that protrude from the back and don't let them seat against the wheel. I took the cut off wheel and trimmed just under 1/2" to get them to sit flush with the wheel. Then using the holes where the original center caps mounted but coming from the back side I bolted them to the wheel. The center cap always stays on the wheel. Then I used closed end chrome lugs to mount the wheel to the truck and no flimsy lug covers or caps.

Re: what rally wheel center caps are these?

Wideside and Rod, thanks for the ideas on how to mount the different types of caps. I'm in search of a set now!

Cdowns, good idea about a sign guy to make the center stickers.

Ohio, check your pm.
