Drug this fat boy home last night.

Decisions, decisions,,,, I have been wanting another one to make a badder, faster, louder truck than the shop truck is. Well, I MAY have found it. Big block, 68 short wide. Dana rear differential, typical rust (none above windshield or on firewall), already five lug wheels. The issue,, it is still on the trailer and have a couple of locals wanting to come take a look at it. Time,, and money,, will tell. Stay tuned...

Re: Drug this fat boy home last night.

I vote to keep it and drive it a bit. See if you really like it.

You can always sell it later, a big block SWB will always be an easy one to move.

Re: Drug this fat boy home last night.

...you live in Missouri, winters comin'....get that heater fixed!...lol

Nice truck, you shouldn't have any trouble selling it, which begs the question....how good are you at finding and replacing it with another one?
Short/big block/67's don't pop up too often...original or converted.

All good

Re: Drug this fat boy home last night.

It is for sure not a factory big block truck. I hope I did not come off as saying it was, would never try to mislead anyone. It is been pieced together with many different trucks/engines and transmission. I always have the shop truck to drive, but i think this big block might have a little more ass than our other truck.

It sure looks like a nice start! If you can get a good return on it, I say flip it unless you want the extra project. It looks like you have a pretty sweet BBC SWB now though.

Re: Drug this fat boy home last night.

Fred if you didn't already have a fresh engine in your current shop truck I'd say swap out the engines but.. the small block is easier on the gas though.

It is and the little mild small block in the shop truck is as dependable and low maintainence as they come. It does not make enough power to hurt itself. Kind of like me....

Re: Drug this fat boy home last night.

I took the several layers of nasty ass carpet and padding out. The floor pan was about what I expected, seen better but seen a whole lot more worser....

Re: Drug this fat boy home last night.

Oh yeah. She's a bit scaley. That floor/rocker pinch weld pic told the story.
You might sell that one on and just put some lower gears in your current shop truck. Gears do make a big difference. A move from 3.08 to 3.73 is very noticeable.

That it would, but we drive the shop truck down the highway quite a bit. Made the trip to Nashville Tennessee for the Good Guys event and the truck did great at cruising speeds.
