front brake conversion ?s

Im trying to find info about which years and models that will change out with my 68 gmc. I want to put a 6 lug disc set-up on it. I dont have the money to buy new stuff (the good stuff) so im going from this truck to that truck getting parts. I want to keep my 6 lug set-up. Any help would be very appreciated.

I have 2001 gmc wheels on it right now. Just got off the phone with summit. Just have more important things to put a 1000$ on right now instead of breaks on my truck. I'll check them out and thanks

Disc brakes are a great addition to any old car or truck. You can have all the "go" you want, but if it won't stop-you are in trouble. You could get a 5-lug setup from a 73-87 easily and cheap. Convert the rear later.

Theres a pullaparts here and they have a 82-87 silverado so I will look into getting it. Does anyone know if the cross member is rivoted in or bolted? Might go ahead and get the rearend also and can I use the booster pump and master cylinder off of that truck? I want to get differ wheels anyway so I might as well go ahead and change to 5 lug.

Crossmember is bolted in , if you are getting booster and master get all the lines too . They will fit with some tweaking.
