Restoration Metal (tri-plus)

New to the Forum,
Looking to start doing some body work on my 1970 k10..
I know there are a lot of people that will only run GM metal.
Been looking into a restoration metal called Tri-plus.
Been told there metal is supposed to be up to original specs??
Just wondering if anyone has done a build with this metal or any other new metal?
Live in michigan, hard to find clean GM metal. thank you

I used TRI-Plus rocker panels and they were the same thickness as the original metal and fit very well. No complaints here.

Have a tri plus hood, left front fender and left rear bedside. Also rocker panels.
I think in many cases the "made in China" fits better than the original. After working
on a lot of older American metal... I have to say the assembly methods were... ummm...
casual. What I mean is.. I've spent extra time searching for OEM and factory pieces from
salvage yards. Sometimes even extra money depending on what you need. But they don't
always fit better. The one exception is doors. I go with NOS doors whenever possible.
Depending on your metal skills... you may not even need aftermarket sheet metal.
I wouldn't say I'm a metal guru by any means, but I was able to build a bottom for my radiator
tower which was just about rusted away to nothing. I also used a piece of sheet metal to replace
some of the floor board in the cab.

I used Tri-Plus inner fenders. They fit OK and actually weighed slightly more than the originals.

Does anyone where the Tri Plus sheet metal is made?

I am in need of inner kick panels for the cab. I got a out rocker from GMC Paul at it was made by KeyParts made in Taiwan.

Look closer on your key parts sticker, should most likely say triplus on it somewhere. In my experience key parts is basically triplus, or is a distributor of them.

I believe they are made in Taiwan

I noticed it has a Triplus number. So who makes them? Triplus make them for Key Parts?

It sounds like all the panels are stamped over seas.
