Hows the blazer market

I know what these rigs are and got a pretty good idea to some what what they are worth and i know all the members that have them do too, but i was courious other than what i see on evil bay are they selling pretty good all over the country with the economy like it is ? Is there still alot of folks looking for them out there that are in nice shape ? Just curious i ve had a itch for something else and thought about putting mine on here but cant decide. Maybe ill just put it on here and see what happens

If I had the money I'd make another trip to your place and bring it home with me

Re: Hows the blazer market

Its the nicest one ill probably ever own , i was thinking today really other than needing wetherstripping and needing a little body work and paint i guess its been gone through front to back , i know a lot of people claim that on evil bay on there stuff , and ive never seen anyone on here advertise something for not what it is thats why i love this site, but honestly i guess there s not much on it that has nt been replaced or gone through mechanical wise that is, i site down earlier and figured close to 7000 just in new stuff in the last year and a half , motor ,painless wiring , tires , wheels ,all brake parts master cyl booster perp valve , front seats, vintage mp3 radio , body mounts , i could go on and on i guess , I just been having a itch for a first gen camaro and cant have both so im kinda torn at the moment on what to do !

Re: Hows the blazer market

Depending on the condition you want a 1st gen camaro to be in,,,generally they are going to cost more than a 4x4 blazer does. Even for one in similar condition as your blazer is more than likely going to be more money.

If a 69-72 blazer is done nicely, tastefull, and is a straight solid example,,,I'm talking new front to back, fresh paint and interior and needs nothing, I've seen them fetch over $20k easily. Depending on what's done and what it needs the price can go either way up or down...

Didn't catch your location, but the East side of the country may fetch a little more money for a solid rust free example vs out here where solid trucks are still plentifull. I think the economy is starting to come back slowly, prices on muscle cars (that I watch closely) are still respectable and creeping up slightly. Still not a time I would want to sell anything but it's bouncing back.

I'm sure you have a price in mind. I'd stick to it and sit on it a while, see if someone wants it worse than you do

Re: Hows the blazer market

I cant agree with you more , if i do sell it i know if i buy a 1st gen camaro ill have to put more cash with it and i know the car will be rougher than my blazer but thats just part of the game , i just hate when you see a nice shinny paint job on a blazer or a old muscle car and everything else looks like crap like a old greasy engine with wires going everywhere and the underneath looks like its been sitting in salt water and they still want $20,000 ,i guess its america and anyone can ask what they want but man its funny to see sometimes . I maybe like those people too though in some ways im pretty proud of my blazer but i know its no show rig either but hey its paid for and dont eat much either so i guess i dont have to sell it but i cant have both so if i decide i need a car bad enough i may have to , i dont know about your area but around my parts i know i could point at dozens of old camaros and chevells but i think there s one other man locally that i see sometimes in a first gen blazer one reason i always loves these things, not to mention they look sweet !

Re: Hows the blazer market

Depends on what kind of 69 camaro you come accross.
The problem with 69 camaros is that they have become an icon of sorts. For good reason, it is a damn good looking car. Even a rusted out hulk can bring $10k or more if it has the right numbers on it I have a 69 RS Z-28. These cars done correctly will fetch close to 6 figures. Hard to believe with production figures in the 19,000 range (for all 69 Z's) but they have a hard core following. Find one that's missing a few things and needs a little work, but overall is still there and presentable, and they will still bring $40-$60k depending on what's there and what isn't.

69 SS camaro's aren't far behind, especially an L78 example. Even a simple RS camaro (even with a base 307 engine) is getting a bit pricey.

If looking at a plain model, most of those have been modified now and it becomes personal taste. To what extent will dictate the price.

I'd assume projects are still out there too (they made a ton of 69 camaros) but the prices still might be a little shocking. Hope you find what you are looking for.

Re: Hows the blazer market

What exactly are you looking for in a first gen camaro? project or finished car?

Re: Hows the blazer market

hopefully something that i can drive at least , i know if the blazer sells i wont be able to buy a show car but maybe just a okay driver something to play around with would be fun just a thought , maybe no one will buy my blazer and i wont have to worry about it . I could probably go to a 70/73 camaro and find something a little cheaper

well I do have a 67 that is just about a driver, I have been toying with the idea of selling it. Just haven't taken the leap yet.

Re: Hows the blazer market

I understand your deliema! I had something like that because I told my my wife that I may sell my Camaro after the Blazer restoration started. Well that was two years ago and she has not said anything so I dont bring it up. But know Im thinking I put 1500 miles on the Camaro after a frame off that I finished in 2006 and I put 1600 miles on my Blazer in under a year. So now Im thinking should I keep it or let it go. I love it but I just dont drive it enough. Ive had two classic cars for the past 8 years and my Camaro has always been one of the two. My advise is if you drive it alot Id keep it. If not start the new project.

Thats great to hear! I just love the steelie look! Which ever direction you go with either keeping the Blazer or get a Camaro you will still have a bad a$$ ride!
