Weather stripping help

So I have a 99 Silverado with the 3 door extended cab, and on the passenger side when I'm on the freeway you can hear the wind whipping by and making a sound like the window is open just a crack, but it's all the way up. Is there a way to adjust so the door shuts tighter? Like the latch assembly, maybe some adjustment where the hook in the door latches to the metal hoop on the truck?

Re: Weather stripping help

It sounds like the third door is not latched all the way, the third door has an upper and lower latch and if one of the latches is not working or one is closed and not opening the door sits out and will make a wind noise. The lower latch seizes and will not open but if the latch is in the closed position, with the door open the door will latch closed but just on the upper latch. So the front door striker is mounted on the third door that now is to far from the door opening to seal the gap with the weather strip. I would check the latches on the third door to see if they are working, rotate the latches with a screwdriver and open them with the handle both should pop open. The lower one gets salt and grim off the road and stops working.

Another thing to check out would be the swing out quarter glass in the 3rd door. I have replaced a few of these under warranty due to wind noise. It adjusting the latches doesn't cure the noise, tape off the glass to the body seam, and test drive. Just another thought.
