S wire on starter ?

How many amps does this wire carry? Also, would it be a good source for kill switch? I have some other ideas as well, but curious about this wire for one option.

I'm also wanting to check ignition switch prior to initial fire, so can I unhook this wire so I can check voltage to it to insure all is good. My concerns are things like neutral safety and such.

Re: S wire on starter ?

My research yields a consensus of 8 to 10 amps. It can't be too much or the ignition key wouldn't hold up.
