Header opinion

anyone try these?

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F183548524699

looking for something cheap and effective to put on my bagged suburban..that will also clear the ground. ive thumbed through tons of pages for headers for bagged suspension and they are all old threads. few that i read that will fit say 68-72 chevelle headers, so thats what i searched for. i really like the thorleys but out of my range.

Re: Header opinion

Probably not what you want to hear, but I love my Ramhorns. Look nice, low (no) maintenance, would fit great on a bagged truck, and cheap. I paid about 60.00 each. Painted them Silver.

Re: Header opinion

2.5'' ram horn manifolds into a single 3'' pipe out the back. That is unless you plan on running this on the race track, then go with headers

Re: Header opinion

Here are a couple of pics I have, I could take better ones if you want. This was a 6 cylinder, I mounted the engine using the 6 cylinder mounts which are further back than the 8's. So if yours came with an 8 cylinder, it may be different.

I actually had hard start problems with headers, prompting my move to the ramhorns. But the problems continued. I now have a high torque mini starter and no heat issues.

Can't help with the tranny lines, mine is stick. But many times they can be relocated using existing slack and maybe a new mounting bolt. I did that with a brake line.

Also attaching a pic with the headers. They were much closer to everything.

Re: Header opinion

.
I went with Hedman 68198, which are specific to Chevelle BBC 67-68. The collectors hang about even with frame rails. My '67 frame didn't need any modification and there were no major interference issues. On the passenger side, one tube needed a small dimple near the A-arm cap after install.

Re: Header opinion

I picked up a set of Jegs house brand headers. Not too expensive and better quality than expected. Flanges are good and I've had no leaks.
