Actually bought it from a good friend who has collected these trucks for 40 years (NO exaggeration). We have traded trucks, suburbans, engines, parts etc for 20 years. It is the 2nd copper/white suburban I got from him. The last I restored and sold years ago. This will be a great project and looking forward to the restoration.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Burbans!

Here are some pics of my "new" 1971 K20 Burb. It was originally Medium Olive. The PO did a little Rat Rod paint job that I think he did himself (both inside and out). I am going to see if I might be able to just remove the top layer of satin paint and restore the orginal.

Although the SPID is hard to read, this rig has the optional 350 engine, a TH350 tranny, heavy duty springs in the front, and power steering. One of the first things I will do though is replace the non-original second row seating and change the tires/wheel from the 11.5 inch size to something skinnier. Oh, and I have to fix the steering which is very loose currently! AND I am definitely ditching the billet grille!!!

I will likely create a build thread as soon as I get to the point of actually having any time to build and something to show for myself! Glad this board exists as I have found many useful tips and ideas so far!

Grnson, is that a Case garden tractor in the background painted white? I think it is made by Ingesoll in Wisconsin! I had one painted the old orange and cream with the Case eagle on the world emblem. Mine was hydrostatic with a Kohler engine! What is yours?? Oh, BTW Nice Burb too! G.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Burbans!

My 72 GMC Custom Deluxe 2500 3/4 ton with coils, rear air and a 402 is finally home. Today we start at the back and make our way forward. Dropping the tank, running new fuel lines, 7 blade connector for trailer, rear panels, exterior trim, rear seat. Pulling the heads for hardened exhaust seats/valve work while we finish the interior. Last to go on will be the front fenders, grill and hood!

Here are a some pictures from a few years ago at Pacific Raceway. Do not know who the trucks belong to but thought they looked pretty cool.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Burbans!

Hi everyone!

I am a recent proud owner of a 71 burb c20 2wd. I am grateful to have found this site! My next project would be to level out the burb and put bigger/taller tires on it to make it look more aggressive (not lowered). Any rim/tire size recommendations are much appreciated. It currently has the stock tires/rims 8.75 R16.5's.

That is one clean looking Burb CentralCoastChevy! They don't come that clean on the East Coast where I am. I recently bought the 1971 K20 above and it is funny how each person's tastes differ. You are wanting to get away from stock and I am wanting to go back to it! I am envious of those gorgeous stock wheels/tires you have on there and want to get some for mine! I haven't had any luck finding steelies on the east coast though! I have seen people suggesting that 255 85r16 is the ideal "tall skinny" tire/wheel combo because it is 33" tall with a 10" width. Typically that is on 4wd vehicles though so I am not sure about clearance on a 2wd. Here is a post about those tires from another guy with a 71 - http://www.1971chevysuburban.com/197...16-or-25575r17

Welcome to the board! Lots of info on here - and good people!

Thanks Chewiebarker. No salt on the roads out here I am actually the 3rd owner and the prior only owned it for 3 years. As much as I like the stock tire look, the tires look like skateboard wheels on this beast. I will check out the 255 8rR16's for sure! Here's a few more pics- I have the 3rd row seat in the garage.
