Re: went cheap on the door seals
Have pair of these in route. Thank you for the link. The Precision push on door seals have been on truck for more than a year and still require slamming the door. Hope these will fix the issue.

Re: went cheap on the door seals
There are a few not to far from me. I have not visited in years and do not bother. The piranha's strip anything worth while before I can get to them. My brother in another state visits yards near him and I can get parts I need for 1/4 the price, including shipping to me.

Re: went cheap on the door seals
Are these Civic seals from a 2-door or 4-door model?

Re: went cheap on the door seals
No I'm not, We had three self-serve in 2010, two by 2012, and one afterwards. I love going to Ontario; back 7-10 years ago I had made an effort to visit about 6 of the yards spread through LA.

Re: went cheap on the door seals
The new Honda seals arrived today. Was anxious to see how they fit. I peeled the Precision press on seal off the drivers door and threw the new seal on. I spent quite a bit of time adjusting the door and the pinch weld mounting point for the Precision seals and still had to slam the doors. Door closes real easy now. I think the Honda seals may be a bit loose the way my door is adjusted. Should be easy to tighten them up a bit.

Re: went cheap on the door seals
I just got my Honda door seals in the mail yesterday and threw one of them on and it fits perfect. I don't have any experience with the LMC or Precision, but the Honda seal installed in less than a min.

Re: went cheap on the door seals
Please post photos of the Honda seals installed. The used ones I tried had a "flap", for lack of a better word, that was unsightly to say the least.
Also, the Precision push-on seals should be installed a little long. In other words, a little more length than it looks like you need. Just bunch them up a bit as mentioned above. And pay special attention to all four corners to make sure they are snug. If you stretch them tight and cut them perfectly, they WILL eventually "grow" a gap at the bottom.

Re: went cheap on the door seals
I assume you're asking for a pic from inside the cab. I already pulled the one off that I installed and didn't take any pics from the inside. Here are a couple pics of the outside. Maybe someone else can posted the inside or I can get an inside pic in the coming days when I work on the drivers side door.

The "flap" on the them doesn't seem to be much bigger than the corners on the LMC ones (IMO) |

Re: went cheap on the door seals
Maybe a pair of those is in my future. Much nicer looking than the junkyard pair I tried.

Re: went cheap on the door seals
I must admit, I was very skeptical but I just installed the door seals today.
Incredible!!!! Easy to install and they fit perfectly, no trimming. Whoever thought to use a Honda Civic seal is a crazy out of the box thinking genius. I adjusted my doors (again) after removing the LMC brand seals and had my doors singing with two clicks. Installed the Civic seals and absolutely no issue. Now I understand what people were referring to when they mentioned the "flap" on these seals. Actually really looks good on the bottom channel and crates a nice reveal on the doors (IMO). Good luck out there |
