1990 Tbi 5.7 Overhaulin + some Horses

Hi Guys,

this winter i like to rebuilt a Tbi 350 from 1990.
Im really confused to the parts, theres too many stuff out there.

I like to rebuild the whole engine, what do i need? Whats the best brand?
Its my daily driver and i like to gain the power a bit.

I think ill going to rise the compression to 9,5 - 10,5. We have 95octane fuel here in germany. Can i go there with stock tbi heads? With dome pistons?

Im watching on comp cams tbi cam, and the edelbrock tbi intake. And chip the ecu.

What would you guys prefer?

Do you have an aproximate budget? If we can convert that into US dollars that will help with a recommendation.

A stock tbi motor computer really wont take advantage of the cam and compression so you will have to find a way to tune. As far as a kit look at northernautoparts.com I have used a few kits from them and they are nice and complete kits. Before you order the parts do yourself a favor and make sure what the bore on the engine is. Your budget will determine what you can really get. Power is really in getting parts that work togather like heads intake and cam kits are the best way to get proven power.Good luck

To tune it i thougt: www.dynamicefi.com

The budget is like we say in german: as cheap as possible, as much as necessary.
The biggest problem is the shipping and when i buy from many shop, it will kicks ass.

Of course i watch the bore befor i get parts.

I like to have 250-300 streetable Horses. But when 250Hp cost 500 bucks and 300 1500bucks ill go with 250.

I think the max is 1000 Dollar + the efi tune + Shipping + Custom.

I hope i wrote that you can understand it.
