Air contiction vent center of dash

I received a nice new chrome center vent for Christmas from a Grandson. Can any body tell me how to change the old tarnished with this new one? I'm also pulling the heater/cooling control panel out. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Happy New Year,
Bill

Re: Air contiction vent center of dash

The center vent is held in place by 2 small nuts that go through the duct work this also help keep a seal between the outer center vent and duct work. It would probably be easiest to remove the glove box and go in from the side be very careful you got a 90% chance of your ductwork tearing at that connector I always sprayed mine with oil to soften them up

Re: Air contiction vent center of dash

Sorry I'm unable to give you advice for the control those always seem pretty simple except for the stiffness of the cables my only advice to be do not move it too much once you get it on screwed and pull back and down.u may want to remove the floor vent(not completely) to allow a little extra room for movement ...I'm in need of help as well.I could use a a picture of a door with the side mirrors on it so I can know the exact placement and for the past 6 months I've been fighting with the wiring.Truck has been sitting since 04 the rats had a great meal is a 68 c10 396 with factory air and dash gauges
