ugly truck intake
I have a 6.0 out of an SS Silverado in my 59 project. anybody done anything custom or creative to with their LS swap to dress up the coils or intake?

I did this to mine...made the coil covers from some scrap 1/8" aluminum I had laying around

Here's my LQ4. It's in process obviously. I used Delmo valve cover adapters to let me use Moon Equipment finned valve covers, a Holley intake and throttle body which give the look of a carbureted engine. It's not going to fool anyone when the fuel rails go on but it looks better - in my opinion - than the plastic truck intake and the coils exposed.

Gotta agree witth Dan..plastic is ugly on an old truck..the ones I did were on my 81..not a lot of people see those...on my 53 I'm going to try for something a little more period correct..

I really like the Delmo stuff just couldnt afford to go that route with the other stuff Im doing. I want an old school look just not sure what I want yet.

Dave,
Check out YouTube. There's a guy in there that did what I think is VERY creative. He "shaved" the factory plastic intake of the the nubs and gussets and used the pieces he cut off to heat "weld" the now-smooth intake. A little body filler and spray paint and it came out WAAY better looking than the factory stock look. I considered doing that and thought of it came out good enough I'd pint it my body color. Then just buy covers for the coils or mount them down on the frame and shove the valve covers too. It doesn't have to be high dollar to look good. Please post a thread on your process and results.
