I'm coming home to this forum

Not that anyone should care that I'm here, but I drifted away years ago toward Facebook Groups. However, recently I've been frustrated that FB groups don't hold the vast data archives the way forums do. They are also run by corporations bent on censoring you in the name of protecting you.

I also went to Pirate4x4 yesterday and found out that the forum was recently bought out by a corporation that owns forums. They changed the format a lot and I'm not sure if I'm a fan.

So I'm coming back here to contribute. I've already re-upped my premium subscription. Here's a big thank you to all the contributors and staff of this forum. This is a special place that I don't want to loose. I've learned so much here.

Welcome back! Come over to irate4x4.com Austin put together a good forum that we've all migrated to. VS has been sanitizing pbb of all references to irate4x4.com

Hopefully the fb heavy hand will bring life back to conventional forums. The fact you can look for old posts is really an underappreciated aspect of forums.

Alex.

That's genius! And also great news because i had some non-chevy axle questions and I wasn't sure where to put them anymore.

Hey - welcome back. I love a forum. FB is good for idle time wasting but for sharing REAL information, it is impossible to replace a forum.

The frustrating thing about FB is, the uninformed don't know to keep quiet.

Re: I'm coming home to this forum

Welcome back. Let's hope this place goes on forever. Trends come and go, then there is the rock solid. It feels pretty solid here and the only thing it has lost are members following social media trends. They can come back any time and hopefully find it's the same old place.

Re: I'm coming home to this forum

Thank you all. I've missed this place dearly. Hopefully after 11+ years of working on Chevy trucks I can contribute good info. I've started by updating both of my build threads. That took a while because I'm now hosting all of my own pictures on my server after the photobucket debacle.

Typical Facebook blather----"My friend has a 1972 short wheelbase C-30 pickup with a Buick straight eight engine. He was able to order it that way because his uncle worked at the factory." For real info, go to a real forum!
