Re: Finally some PAINT!!!

I really like it! Glad your motor problem turned out not to be be something serious.
What brand of paint did you use?

Re: Finally some PAINT!!!

Thanks guys! The paint is a base clear. The brand is BASF diamont. This is what I've used for the past eight years. Really nice product.

Re: Finally some PAINT!!!

I've heard of guys brazing the pickup tube to the oil pump, I guess it's not a bad idea seeing what happened to your engine. Hope your big block is o.k.

Re: Finally some PAINT!!!

Thanks. I got them at a truck shop in Oklahoma City. They actually sound like a train…maybe not as loud, but they're loud enough for me to get in trouble with.

Re: Finally some PAINT!!!

Good find on the pickup. I, like you, would have thought you would have lost all oil pressure when it fell off. I guess you had enough oil in the pan to keep the pump submerged. How's your oil pressure now? Any difference before and after the incident?

Oil pressure seems good now…about 20 at idle (after warmed up) and close to 50 running down the highway on a 100 degree day. Pretty much the same as before.

Sorry to bring up a old thread. I was wondering if you remember the backspacing on your 15x8 wheels?
