1/2 ton 88-98 wheels on a GMT 800?

Before going through the trouble of getting them out of the barn and trying it, I thought I’d see if anyone knew the answer.

I have a set of steel 1/2 ton six lug wheels for a 4wd 88-98 GMT 400. Will they bolt onto a 2000 GMT 800 1/2 ton 4wd? I thought I recalled hearing they would not due to hub or rotor clearance, but I may not be remembering correctly.

Any input would be appreciated.

Mine would not clear the brakes on my friends truck., but we were going, well trying, from 88-98 4wd to 2001 2wd.

The bolt pattern is the same but they need to be at least 16" wheels to clear the brakes. Even then there may be some other fitment issues

88-98 six lug16s will fit 99-02 4wd and 2wds. 03 to 06/7c require 17s.
