Truck Wont Go Into Park

Hey guys,

So my truck wouldn't go into park the other day. It does now, but I'm concerned that this problem will return. Going to get some Chocks to carry around with me this weekend. If I can't get it into park should I park the car in neutral or gear? I don't want to harm the tranny.

Thanks!

Re: Truck Wont Go Into Park

What year is your truck? You might have more success getting answers in the specific truck forums or the engine and drivetrain forum.

If your truck has the ignition mounted on the column, the problem may be with the lock.

As far as parking it with chocks, I'd leave it in neutral. Military HMMWVs dont even have park. They're parked in neutral with the parking brake set and the wheels chocked.
