T5 Transmission and Reverse Lights

Hey guys, working on getting my reverse lights working on my 66 and am in need of some help. I have a T5 transmission and I re-routed the factory reverse light wire to the switch on the transmission and then back to the lights. I thought it may be a switch but a new switch has netted the same results. I tried grounding a light directly to the frame last night but still didn't get anything to come on.

Anyone have any insight on how to get the reverse lights working with a T5 transmission?

Re: T5 Transmission and Reverse Lights

I should add that the reverse lights are new from LMC and the truck originally had a 3 on the tree.

Re: T5 Transmission and Reverse Lights

I bought aftermarket lights for my 64 and the socket is junk. I have to wiggle the bulb to come on and had to wedge a piece of wire in to get contact. I ran mine from the battery and not through the ignition so I need to remember not to leave the car in reverse when I park it.

Re: T5 Transmission and Reverse Lights

Do you have voltage at the taillights or the switch?
Are the new lights LED? If so they may be connected backwards.
