Post 1966 C10 250 L6 to 283 V8 Swap

Well it is almost done, will test fire tonight.
Then time and tune, hope that the carbs don't fight too much.

Nice!
You got progressive linkage?
And are the outboard carbs set up with mix screw or not?

Re: 1966 C10 250 L6 to 283 V8 Swap

Hello everyone

Thanks pretty happy with the outcome so far.
Yes progressive linkage.
No spacer on fan that is the hub on the fan clutch.

Regards Nitro

Re: 1966 C10 250 L6 to 283 V8 Swap

Looks awesome! Really like that you kept it gray, and stuck to rams horns for exhaust - looks perfect. No kidding, I was just wondering a few days ago what the gray or green motors would look like with the valve cover script painted - you did an awesome job on it. Hope it started right up! Thanks for sharing. One minor note for consideration - the glass fuel filters are a bit of a fire hazard, they can break pretty easily - then you can have gas pumping onto a hot engine/exhaust. Metal might be safer - again, just a consideration. Looking forward to more pics of this thing, it really is a work of art.

Re: 1966 C10 250 L6 to 283 V8 Swap

Thanks everyone, it is running well.
Just got the Tach installed and rebuilt the vent windows.
Got to get some more miles on it, before hammering on it.
Been raining a lot here.
