285 75 16 for K20? Need pics help.

I have fullfilled my goal for saving $ tp do my 71 k20 cheyenne.
I bought the 2" easy ride lift kit.
I want to run 33 or so tires. Not so much the 12.5 wide though.

The 285 75 keep coming to me, being basically a 33x11.5

I have spent endless nights searching for pics with these tires.found a few.
Seems like most k20 have 35" tires.

I am making this truck my daily driver, my 1 go to vehicle. So i dint want anything too radical.

Can anyone help me out with pictures?

Possibly backspacing on the wheels? I was thinking 8 or 9 inch wide wheel.

I have them with a 4" lift mounted on 8" wheels on my '72 K2500 presently. The last two pictures are a set, also on 8" wheels, on a '72 K/20 I had with no lift. The GMC had sagged stock springs with 33/12.50-16.5s mounted on 9.75 wheels

Tim, thank you so much. I ran across your posts a few times in my searches.

I envy your fleet of past and present pickups.
Those 285 75 16 tires look to be a great size on an 8 inch wheel.
Looks very practical for a driver.

From the looks, most of those wheels look pretty centered , with just a little sticking out of the fender.
4 inch backspacing?

A 255/85/16 which is a 33x10x16 , a 8" rim with a tall skinny look.

The 67 k20 has 285 75 16 the 70 k10 has 33 12.50 15 both stock suspension

Here is my 71 suburban, I know its not a pickup but it is a K20 with about 2" lift and 285's. Same wheelbase and suspension as the K20 pickups.

Thanks for the compliment. I wish I could have kept all three. That was the plan. The Cheyenne Super in near Roanoke, VA and last I heard had not been touched. The Highlander went to a good friend and it's story is quite the opposite. All I can say is just wait till that rolls out of the shop. Going to be one fine piece.

Yeah, I'd say the backspace is between 3 1/2" and 4". It seems all wheels I've had on my 8-luggers have been, except the 9.75s which have more backspace. It has never mattered enough for me to even know. I have never measured backspace. All that concern comes with modern wheels since things got so goofy. It used to be a wheel was a wheel and all you needed to know is width, diameter, and bolt circle (or truck brand). 8-luggers were all the same bolt pattern across the board.

I've run the 255/75-16s a good bit. They steer with less effort, seem to roll easier, but you can really feel the tall skinniness on lateral movement. Not awful, but definitely an adjustment to a more stable tire. They feel kinda squirrely at first. I think a 7" wheel is perfect for those and 8" for 285/75s.
