dawg likes it, lots of places to go swimming...
lots of places to go riding... got the wife to ride up this hill, but she would NOT bring it back down the hill, i had to double her down... then my son got his skidplate hung up on a rock crossing this creek, could not shake it loose, had to winch him in with wife's quad. while winching his quad, it caught the go-pro mounted on his rear bar & broke the mount-so much for some cool vids of the area....plus side, he was close enuff to toss the line to without getting a soaker... |

that last spot was at Shovelhead Mt, up the Coquihalla. speaking of....this is not about camping, but another whopper of a wipeout on the Coke. tractor trailer lost it's brakes on the "Smasher" the other day. plowed threw about 12-15 cars on the way down... people say the truck driver may have blew the mandatory brake check at the top of the hill, & somehow missed all the run-a-way lanes on the descent as well. not a good hill to be dicking around on if your heavy....then a couple more traffic accidents yesterday....i'm thinking we will be going to Mehatl creek up the Fraser canyon on our upcoming holidays- people seem to be getting real stupid on the Coke lately.... a couple pics of the smash-up off the web a news video clip (aerial) http://bc.ctvnews.ca/out-of-control-...alla-1.3017244 cant wait for friday! holidays! found these 3 little spots carved in the bush, one with a table. they are pretty much for jeepers & tenters. wife did not like the hill down, but scenery was outweighing her opinion....
i backed the truck & trailer down, had a few minors happen. camper slid backwards enough to push the tailgate open, & then it would'nt shut. you can see how cock-eyed the camper is. front chains were stretched TITE! rears were all slackened... and when i pulled ahead to jack the trailer some more, caught my tailpipe on a root & pulled it out of the muffler-looks like i'll be welding the pipes this weekend... later in the week a guy in a lifted toyota stopped by, think he was surprised to see a full-size down there, with a camper....but check it out! |

we went to the end of the lake, 'bout 5 miles, then tried taking the Springbok up the river
'bout half a mile up the river, came to this nice sandy beach... which we dubbed frogger beach. everytime you walked, hundreds of these little frogs would start jumping. they blended in perfectly with the sand, could'nt see them 'till they started jumping around. i bet we saw at least 4-500 hundred of them... |

made it about 2 miles upriver till it was to shallow to use the motor, and forget rowing, need my strength for the 8 busch's in the cooler....
ahhh...what could be better, did'nt catch nothing that time......but who cares...lol |

few hrs later, still no action
so we tried something different...just bb guns with custom springs...  look at all the rings in the water, fish are having a feast on the bugs. broke out the fly rod, almost irritating, lots of 6-7 inchers, finally hit a 11" rainbow-we ate him. son snagged a 14" varden, but we cut him loose... |

rode to Mt Whistlepig (yeah that really is the name, also got a Mt Nipple & Two Squaw Mt near it as well...)
everybody calls these un-named falls Whistlepig falls...cause it comes from Mt Whistlepig... and if you go even further, you come to Grizzly falls, almost 300 feet the water tumbles down the mt |

dawg really likes the fire pit. he had his front legs completely in the ashes just before i got this pic...couple hrs later he had his snout stuffed in there....
so i gave the old hound a brew to get his mind strait lol (did'nt really, just a staged pic...) me & dawg went for a hike. came across an old slide, some of the boulders were semi-sized... |

and the best part of the whole trip, rode about a 100 miles out to the backcountry. awesome ride & incredible scenery. made a few go-pro vids of up there, but utube gives me a headache, big pia, maybe after i re-arrange my sock drawers i'll try it....
they have'nt logged up there since the late '60's i belive, so the bridges are pretty sketchy, cross at your own risk.... getting further in & higher... |
