the big dirty had to catch a ride home.

my dually had to catch a ride home on sat night.

went to the bakery in the am to buy buns for the family x mas party and came out and when i turned the key it did nothing.... grrr so i was in a hurry and left it there for the day went to the party and came back with my tow truck to pick it up. so for fun i turned the key again and it fired right up..... so i thought i had heat soaked my starter. so i moved the truck into position to tow it turned it off. and tried to start it again just to see if the problem was gone. nope wouldn't do anything again. so i'm thinking it's the ignition switch.

It could be the neutral safety switch i know mine has done that to me a few times somehow it moved just enough to where it would not let me start it.

Re: the big dirty had to catch a ride home.

I had one that would do that but it would always start if the tilt was down

Re: the big dirty had to catch a ride home.

I went through the usual parts when I had your symptoms. Ultimately, it needed an upper steering column rebuild - had it done by a pro shop - big $$$.
