73-87 Chevy Wiring Harnesses

OKay. I got this '86 GMC now. I kinda half way wanna do a frame off, quicky resto/custom, but I need a wiring harness that hasnt been butchered all up. I'm almost a little reluctant to go diving into this truck project without some sort of wiring solution. Does anyone know of an aftermarket replacement, such as painless, or anyone else that makes a harness for this truck, PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Okay, is this a direct replacement wiring harness or more less a generic harness you gotta add to to get right? is this the engine side and interior, and taillight and all or what? Thanks a lot.

Re: 73-87 Chevy Wiring Harnesses

Staright from the link I provided.

Kits cover the following: A/C, heat, brake lights, coil, horn, electric fan, emergency flashers, dash instruments, headlights, radio (constant and ignition hot), turn signals, wipers, dome lights, third brake light, tail lights, charging, starting, power door locks, power windows, accessory plug, electric fuel pump, backup lights/cruise control, electric choke, and power antenna.

For 1967-72 GM trucks with factory A/C, an additional GMC/Chevy A/C harness (not included) must be used.

Click on the Install instructions also. It's in .pdf form at the bottom of the summit page.

Re: 73-87 Chevy Wiring Harnesses

I just ordered one for my 86 chev... it's a universal 12 circuit from headlight to tail light, includes engine compartment, steering column and under dash... everything... painless wiring cost me $750 canadian. had it overnight and then clip, clip, clip... a five year old could do it!
