Re: Pics of the long distance project...

Thanks to all who have been reading up on Low Sierra. I might have to hold off on calling it that until I get a look at it to ensure its actually low. from what I seen its not very low, probably should have done a c-notch, but I will have to wait and see. Yes, the program is pretty cool and having a vehicle in actual jail creates its own set of issues to say the least.

Thanks I thought it was gonna be something different as opposed to orange or black or body color. I think it looks good.

Thank you. I saw something close to that in a magazine and put my own spin on it. I won't use the cover just the insert for the fuel filler. No it was not a kit with a hose. I got the insert from a jeep catalog and the hose came from SoCal Speed Shop. The hose has not been fitted yet. Sorry I don't remember the jeep place info. Thanks.

Re: Pics of the long distance project...

Here are a few pics from the shop of the dash and door panels. The dash was covered in vinyl. The doors were dyed. Let me know what you think of that insert material I got from a Porsche restoration shop.

Re: Pics of the long distance project...

wood bed, looks to be all buttoned up...
tailgate looks good, need to figure out the tail lights...
rear tire, its too high, I will have to figure that out once I get it back, I doubt the suspension will settle too much more... MTF

Re: Pics of the long distance project...

I found a hole in the drivers side bed where the chains used to bolt up. The paint guy is not going to be happy, but hey someone should have checked before they applied color and so on. I wished I had double checked to make sure they sealed up those stake pockets too. I can live with the stake pockets.

I am concerned with the ride height, its too high. Right now the front has 2 inch drop spindles (CPP), a RideTech shock, I believe its a stock or lowered spring (can't remember). The rear is a RideTech 4 bar setup with RideTech coilovers. In the pictures above they only had the trucks on one set of the wheels (old 17s on the drivers side and 18 in front with 20s in the rear). I was told the brakes are on so once I get some pictures of it on the ground I will have to make a call on if the stance is right or not. Let me know what you think... Thanks.

Nice looking truck! I wasn't sure about going with light stain on my 65 bed wood, but after seeing yours, I'm doing the same!

Re: Pics of the long distance project...

Thank you Gaber65Stepside. Actually, they used the same clear from the paint job on the wood (or so I was told). I think it looks really good. I hope it holds up over time. we will see.

TJ thank you and you are welcome.

UKNOWME, yes I agree. Any suggestions? I don't want to mess with the bed floor. I will talk to the builder tomorrow and see what he thinks.

Thanks, Nuckingfuts. I wanted to lighten up the interior, I think that red and plaid will do it.
