1968 C20-1977 frame

I've been trying to post pictures, but no luck. My son is much more versed on the computer than me, I should let him do this! The 1968 was purchased for $200. I've got the title and it even runs! The 1977 3/4t frame was bought for $400. I'll be using the front clip and cab from the 68. The sheet metal on the 68 is pretty nice. Rocker panel on the driver side, some help on the passenger door and some miscellaneous areas. The 1977 frame has a Dana 44 front and a 14bff rear. The PO told me the truck came with optional HD brakes...... the rear drums are huge, also the spring pack has 7 leafs, is this an option? I've got a 396 already to go. The trans is a sm465 with a np205. I won't be using the truck bed, the 'new' truck will get a custom flat bed. This weekend I'll be finished cleaning the frame and then I'll be applying POR-15 with a top coat of chassis black. I'll post more as the build goes along. Thanks to all who have gone to post their builds, it gives me the confidence to try this for the first time in my 45 years.

I fix the pic. You are on the right track but need to make a few changes on how you do it. We have a FAQ forum here that has in detail how to post pics. I would recomend reading that. I think I would probably mess ya up more if I tried to explain it this morning.

Look at the pics of my truck in my signature. It is on a 77 chassis. Just click on MY Truck and

Mudder, thanks for the help.I checked out your 67..... nice! When I was a kid my dad had a 67 short bed 2 WD. I guess that's when I fell for these trucks. I'm close to figuring out my computer problems.

Re: 1968 C20-1977 frame

I apologize for not getting back to your post. I have no new pictures of the truck. Like many folks, I don't have any extra funds right now. Hopefully, that will change this week. Working on a deal with a friend of my brother to do some fabrication on the new body mounts and my flatbed.
