71 K10 specs

I recently sold my 72 K10 and have been regretting it and might have the chance at a 71 K10. The body work doesn't worry me, but I just want to make sure drivetrain is original. Would it have come stock with Dana 44 front end and Chevy 12 bolt rear end with 3.08 gears. I swear my 72 was a 10 bolt rear with 3.73 gear ratio. The seller says its the NP205 transfer case, so that is good, but it's a SM465 three-speed with granny low, so not to thrilled wjth that

I haven't looked at it yet, but does need typical cab work like rockers, cab corners and floor work. Short bed stepside and the bed needs work too Im hoping to get a photo of the spid to verify a shortbed. What would a truck like this, in bad shape, be worth?

10 bolt was stock but the 12 bolt was optional i believe. If its not a over priced rusted out pile of junk and you like and can afford it buy it.

Re: 71 K10 specs

10 bolt front wasn't stock in 72, don't believe they were even being made at that time, front or rear for a 1/2 ton. ( It would have been a Dana 44 )
12 bolt rear was stock.
NP205 was stock also.
As for gears it could have been either 3:08s or 3:73s depending on the transmission or special order.

Re: 71 K10 specs

Thanks for the info, but unfortunately just found out that this is a Frankenstein truck. Originally a longbed C10, converted to a shortbed 4x4, so not what I was hoping. I sure do regret selling my 72 swb k10.
