50% rust 50% steel that is .Well here she is i took a half day, got her running and drove her home . I broke out some tools and started a cuttin . It was pretty easy goin do to all the patch panels made from tin and bieng fastend with aluminum rivets . I got a rear floor , short bed bed sides , doors and a new front clip . Now i just have to make it solid again

She isnt something special but for the 500. i paid i am not totaly disapointed it does run and drive . Actualy i was suprised that every thing worked except the horn . i am not sure what rout to take as far as the cab floor i would love to find a replacment for (hint Hint ) so i will see what happens . I looked at the doors a little closer and its a no brianer on converting the pickup doors just a little cutting . I will keep you all posted with pics of corse i want to move pretty quickly on this one i want to drive it this summer

Just cuz the paint is brown doesnt mean it is rust. Looks pretty minty to me.

Thanks i will be pretty much following in you foot steps piecing mine back together . i know its by no means rare but due to lack of the al mighty dollar i am takin the long road by the way you still got an extra windshild frame buddy

Nope, it found a new home about a month ago, I do have an extra one that is only half rusted out though.

What side ? mine is rotted on the drivers side Maybe i could make it work .

Let me get a look at mine when i get the top off . i can already see its going to be a big job . How easy was it to seperate the bed sides from the body ?

They aren't that bad to get them off, at the back on the cross member they will be tacked, those are hard to grind off and at the front they are bolted to the rocker boxes but chances are all that metal is gone.

man I thought the one I brought home the other day was bad, but now I am thinking it will be a walk in the park compared to what you are up against. Good luck with yours and thanks for the motivation!

Boy ain't that the truth, rust wise! I put a pick-up cab on the one I had way back in 1982 because I thought it was too rusty, wise I had that tub back now! BTW....nice find and keep us up to date with pics
