what this? Anyone know?

I live in a rural area and am seldom during the day and no one should be around the house when I'm gone, but this is the 2nd time I've found the object in the picture, both times at an outside hydrant next to the well. I found one this time last year and the other one tonight. The lens is glass and there is a part # of 05138701. I'm guessing the assessor is there taking pictures or maybe fell off my polaris ranger or some other equipment. Any ideas?

Dunno', have you seen any drones flying around? Do you have a water meter in the area?

Re: what this? Anyone know?

That looks similar in shape to the water meter lens that we would use in constriction when connecting to a fire hydrant.

Sometimes there is no other water available other than a fire hydrant. We would have to notify the FD and the City / County before hand and the meter was used to keep track of the water that we used.

Id the hydrant near your well and actual fire hydrant?

Re: what this? Anyone know?

No water meter, private well, not a hydrant, looked all over the polaris and didn't see anything missing. I'm stumped on this, I suspect the county is up to something when I'm not home.

Our game cam is a Moultrie "A" Series game cam, the lens is a lot smaller and completely different.

Re: what this? Anyone know?

It probably fell off of a 737 Max.

I think this guy nailed it, guessing the county needed water for a project and stopped at the house.
