Is it possible

Just wondering if it would be possible to swap a 69-72 cab and front clip onto a 76ish frame. I think that i could grind the rivets off of the 69-72 frame and weld them to the newer frame for the cab and front clip to line up, and then use a flatbed so i could get around centering the wheel in the wheelwells.

Would it be an easy swap, or am i setting myself up for a whole lot of work.

Also, will a 69-72 steering column line up with the newer pwr steering box with no modifications.

Thanks for any help

David

I believe I may have used the newer shaft from the steering column. The rag joints were different some years but could probably be made to work. If you have a hoist to hold the cab in place it would be a lot easier to get the cab mounted. The older mounts will be very close to where the newer mounts are now. Just gotta watch out for the distributor clearence. The rest is a piece of cake. A body lift will be very helpful.
